DICOM Dump

The DICOM dump dialog list all the header information in the active image.

Show all details

Mark this to have all details about all fields displayed, like Value Representation (VR), Value Multiplicity (VM), data size in bytes and the data itself, except for byte data, which is not displayed.

Save to file

Enables you to save the dump, as viewed on screen, to a text file.

Note: The DICOM Dump dialog box is displayed when you choose the Image Info ... command on the View menu.

Tips:

  • The shortcut for displaying the DICOM dump dialog is Ctrl-i  
  • You can also open the DICOM dump dialog by clicking  info button  on the data management tool bar.
  • Click Ctrl-f to perform a search for specific information in the header.
  • The series descriptor is displayed in the title bar, so that you can identify which series the DICOM dump refers to.
  • The information window is also available for non-Dicom images (Nifti) but will then only display information available for the given image format

Alternatives:

  • If you only want patient relevant information, you can use the DICOM Edit dialog
