Apparent Difusion Coefficient (ADC) map

A separate image series representing ADC values is needed for estimation of Vessel Size Index. The ADC map must be loaded into the nordicICE workspace prior to starting the VAI module. The ADC map can be calculated from diffusion weighted imaging data as explained in Diffusion weighted analysis. When the module is started, the ADC series will then be visible among the source datasets in the main VAI interface, and can be set as the ADC series by right-clicking on the image thumbnail:

NB: the ADC map is assumed to be properly co-registered (but not necessarily resampled) to the perfusion series prior to starting the VAI module.
